All of Wayne County’s property-tax bills are about to go out.
Superior Court Judge Ronnie Rahn has refused to issue an injunction against sending out large-acreage tax bills, as requested by Rayonier Forest Resources.
In a hearing on Rayonier’s motion for a temporary restraining order Wednesday, though, Rahn did order that Rayonier’s new bill for forestland taxes be reduced.
According to the order, Rayonier’s bill will be based on 2007 values rather than the much higher values that have been the basis of Rayonier’s bills for the past five years.
