JetBlue Airways will begin flights into and out of the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport starting next February.
The airport’s Executive Director Greg Kelly confirmed the information early Monday morning.
JetBlue will begin with two flights daily to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport starting Feb. 13, 2014, wrote Lori Lynah, director of the airport’s marketing and public relations department.
The introductory fares will cost as low at $79 for one-way flights to JFK between Feb. 13 and March 31. People will be able to start booking flights today (9/16/13).
Kelly believes the addition of JetBlue, “a low-cost airline” will increase competition and stimulate new travelers in Savannah who had been inclined to fly out of Jacksonville or Charleston due to cheaper priced flights.
