Daniel Austin Binkley, 17, was arrested Monday and charged with terroristic threats and acts after deputies responded to the Brantley County High School in reference to threats made toward administrative staff.
Reports indicate Binkley was advised by school staff to comply with the school dress code and he responded by threatening the staff member in the presence of other staff members.
In other action:
Deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of Laural Road in reference to Theft by Taking. The complainant stated some unknown person had taken two red gas jugs from the premises.
Tony Joe Grantham (52) and Ricky Dale Thrift (54) were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce and Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II (hydrocodone) after Department of Natural Resource Rangers requested the assistance of the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office upon finding the two off Ft. Mudge Road. A small amount of marijuana and a partial tablet believed to be hydrocodone was found in their vehicle. This incident is under further investigation by the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office and DNR.
Gary J. Blackman was traveling on Hwy 110 west in a 2000 Mercury Sable when a deer crossed into the path of his vehicle causing damage to the grill and hood.
George Scotty Rogers (89) stated he was driving his 2007 Nissan pick-up through his yard and misjudged the clearance and struck the parked 2000 Toyota Camry of Mildred English (66) tearing the rear bumper from the Camry.
Deputies responded to the area of the 7500 block of Riverside Road in reference to a structure fire. The complainant stated they looked out their window and saw their shop/storage building was on fire. The structure was destroyed, but some of the contents were saved. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Deputies responded to the area of the 300 block of Birchwood Road in reference to a Burglary/Theft by Taking. The complainant stated his battery charger had been taken from his residence.
Deputies responded to the area of the 400 block of Elm Circle in reference to Terroristic Threats and Acts. The complainant stated the offender had threatened bodily injury to the complainant after the complainant and offender had been involved in a verbal altercation.
