A Folkston businessman has been charged with insurance fraud after filing claims in the name of unsuspecting policy holders.
An investigation conducted by the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation’s Enforcement Division led to the arrest of William David Rodeffer III, aka W.D. Rodeffer, according to a release from the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation’s Enforcement Division.
Rodeffer, 36, is the owner of the Satilla Insurance Group in Folkston, Georgia and is also associated with a business known as Integrated Insurance Solutions, the release detailed.
The Enforcement Division’s investigation alleges that Rodeffer fraudulently took premium dollars for workers’ compensation insurance policies that were never issued and instead issued the unsuspecting client a bogus certificate of insurance as proof they had workers’ compensation insurance coverage. It is suspected Rodeffer has fraudulently obtained over $7,400.00 in workers’ compensation premiums from the victim.
