The offices of the Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney and the Ware County Juvenile Court were evacuated this morning by police who were investigating a suspicious package that someone had taped to the DA office’s door, said Assistant District Attorney George Barnhill.
The investigation revealed nothing dangerous, Barnhill said.
Office employees stood on the sidewalk as the area was cordoned off while officers investigated the contents of the package — as well as another that had been taped to the front office door at the Ware County Juvenile Court office.
Barnhill said the suspicious parcels were nothing more than hand-written letters from an unhappy family member in reference to a recent child custody dispute.
