The county’s constitutional officers must meet and agree to place a legal advertisement in this week’s issue of the Brantley Express in order for the Enterprise to be named the legal organ for 2014. So far we have not been informed even that a meeting has been scheduled. The clerk of superior court and the sheriff have indicated they want to give the legal organ status to the Enterprise, but the probate court judge has steadfastly refused to agree. If the other two are waiting for him to call a meeting to make the decision, they might be waiting a long time. We urge them to call their own meeting and take a vote Monday at the latest. Otherwise, the Express will remain the legal organ and the Enterprise will be forced to make other plans to remain a fiscally viable publication.
