Iron Chef Challenge returns to Southern Women’s Show

Special to SEGAZINE

The Southern Women’s Show, an annual action-packed weekend extravaganza for women of all ages, is pleased to announce the exciting lineup of local chefs for the Iron Chef Challenge on Sunday, February 23, 2014.

The Iron Chef Challenge, presented by Eat It and Like It and one of the Southern Women’s Show’s most popular events, will pit four area chefs from Savannah’s finest dining establishments against each other in a one hour cooking competition. Chefs will be given a list of potential ingredients one week before the competition. On the day of the competition, on stage in front of a live audience, the secret ingredient will be revealed to the chefs! Each chef will then have one hour to prepare two courses from scratch using the secret ingredient. A panel of three judges will decide the winner of this fun and suspenseful event.

Join the audience on Sunday for your chance to win exclusive prizes and to be featured on the hit television show Eat It and Like It filmed locally in Savannah.

The 2014 Iron Chef contestants include: Cameron Cheney, executive chef at B. Tillman’s on Savannah’s Southside; Seth Musler, owner/operator of Betty Bombers and Butterhead Greens; Kirk Blaine, executive chef at Driftaway Café in Sandfly; and Christopher Adgate, executive chef at Belford’s in City Market.

Come celebrate Peanut Lovers Day on Friday, February 21 with the Southern Peanut Growers. Be one of the first 250 people in line and receive a mini spiral notebook and pen – perfect for your purse! The Southern Peanut Growers will be offering cooking schools three times on Friday, in addition to daily cooking schools on Saturday and Sunday, educating American consumers about the U.S. peanut industry and its products – one PB&J at a time!
