MCADOO – A Georgia man reported missing was flown to a hospital after he drove off Interstate 81 in Kline Township, Pa., Thursday night, state police at Frackville said Saturday.
Eugene C. Davis, 73, of Waycross was discharged Friday from Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest, a hospital spokeswoman said Saturday.
Davis was driving a 2008 Ford Sport Track south on Interstate 81 when he drove off the road at mile marker 138.4 in Kline Township at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Davis went off the left shoulder, struck two road signs, a culvert and the embankment in the median, police said.
He suffered from a medical condition, one of the factors which led to the crash. He was transported from the scene by McAdoo Ambulance, then flown to the hospital.
His vehicle was towed, police said.
Davis was a missing person from Georgia and Georgia authorities were notified, police said.
Police charged Davis with failing to stay in his lane.
