Special to the Enterprise
The Coastal Georgia Film Alliance is seeking extras for scenes of a movie that will be filmed at the former site of Durango-Georgia Paper Co. in St. Marys.
Anyone familiar with the site will understand why producers of “Preserve” chose it. The movie is described as an apocalyptic story that takes place 170 years after a disaster has driven humanity underground. Survivors finally emerge to the surface and seek safe harbor in an unwelcoming world.
The mill site is a mostly demolished industrial site with piles of rubble and debris that is still being cleaned up.
