Railroad crossing gets facelift in Nahunta
The Department of Trnsportation has announce that at the request of CSX railroad U.S. Highway 301 will be closed from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, north of the intersection with U.S. Highway 82 in the City of Nahunta.
Motorists will be able to access businesses, schools, and residences in the area. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
The detour route will be signed as follows:
· Motorists traveling southbound on Highway 82 will be detoured east on Highway 301; turn right on S.R. 110 continue on S.R. 520 back to Highway 82 where detour ends.
· Motorists traveling northbound on Highway 82 will be detoured east S.R. 520 toward Atkinson; turn left on S.R. 110; turn left on Highway 301 back to Highway 82 where detour ends.
· Highway 82 will remain open to local traffic up to rail road crossing work zone.

Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather. Callers also can transfer to operators to request assistance or report incidents 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
