Special to SEGAZINE
Two of three governmental bodies plan to hold the line on taxes in Bacon County.
The Bacon County Board of Commissioners will hold the millage rate at 13.98 — the same rate since 2009 — and the City of Alma is expected to set its rate at 12.06 — the same for nine consecutive years.
But the school board has not indicated whether it will be able to hold its millage rate at 14.5 — unchanged since 2008, despite ever growing cutbacks in state funding
All three could announce millage rates at the end of August or the beginning of September.
